Vitacress MDW Recognition Event
Published in CDI London News by CDI London, December 16, 2009
Vitacress held their 6th MDWT Recognition Event on 14th December and for the first time chose to combine this event with recognising Training achievements over the year, inviting guests from Andover College, Basingstoke College of Technology and Intec Business College. The event was held off site at our local village hall since it was a bigger event than usual catering for 40 people and also to make it more special in the build-up to Christmas. In total the event recognised 15 people for their achievements in MDWT and training. Awards included the Highest Scoring Team for Goal Alignment which went to our Technical team and an award to our apprentice, Kyle King, who has achieved a distinction for every piece of coursework he has submitted during his apprenticeship.
It was also only the second time we have presented the People's Award. It is different from all our other awards in that the winner is not decided based on audit scores or by the module champion in that area, but is voted for by everyone within the business. It was fantastic to see 10 people or teams from a number of departments nominated for their work on MDWT and receiving votes from so many people – well over 20 teams voted for this award. This award was presented to Pat John, New Product Development because she is constantly helping everybody and has a fantastic positive attitude whilst working really hard. The Marketing department said that Pat's contribution is essential and they don't believe they would have been able to win the business for so many new products without her professionalism.

NVQ's for Mission Directed Work Teams (MDW)
Published in CDI London News by CDI London, October 3, 2009
CDI London has teamed up with Basingstoke College of Technology to offer National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ), with the Mission Directed Work Teams (MDW) programme.
The MDW training and implementation, together with some additional workshop time and coaching, provides potential candidates with the majority of the work-based evidence needed for the qualification. MDW is seen as an excellent basis for NVQ candidates in Business Improvement Techniques.
The NVQ will include the following topics;
• Complying with Statutory Regulations and Safety Requirements
• Effective Team Working
• Workplace Organisation (5S)
• Continuous Improvement Techniques (Kaizen)
• Creating Visual Management Systems
• One Optional Module
CDI London is delighted that alongside implementation of MDW, businesses now have the opportunity to include a nationally recognised qualification for their front line team members.
