Jenni Reclik – CDI London Ltd. Oct 2008

"The MDW programme has been a fantastic enabler in the cultural transformation of the Derbyshire site. The general level of business awareness of our employees, together with genuine visual performance measurement and goal alignment, has resulted in our Supply Chain being regarded as a competitive differentiator in the market place. The benefits this programme to our operation and our employees and the continuing support of CDI London, has enabled JohnsonDiversey to be externally recognised as one of the leading manufacturers in the UK. From a personal perspective, I can now confidently state that all our employees now know what a good day looks and feels like."
    Ian O'Connor - UK/IRE Supply Operations Director.  (Aug 2006).

MDWT is an excellent framework on which to model your operation as it focuses on both people engagement and process improvement, through enabling leadership. MDW encourages a visual results-oriented approach where Mini-Business teams are aligned to the goals of the business and have a clear communication process that allows teams to seek assistance from their coaches. This ensures all people are working on the right things to deliver the required results for the business and improve competitiveness. We find it invaluable.
Munish Bhalla - Continuous Improvement Manager, JohnsonDiversey Cotes Park. (Sept 2006).

    JohnsonDiversey France

    Johnson-Diversey Villefranche:
The team at Villefranche is well advanced with Module 1 Mini-Business Goal Alignment, and training for Module 2 5S/Visual Management was carried out in early July. Module 2 implementation began on 18th August, with a day dedicated to S1-Sort and Discard, for the entire site. Plant Director Christophe Grassiot tells us a number of innovations from the front line teams are already visible.

    JohnsonDiversey Holland

    JohnsonDiversey factory in Enschede, Holland:
MDW changed our culture and results in an unbelievable way. Instead of working in silos we are working with a nicely oiled (value) chain of Mini-Business Teams; there is trust, clear communication and a huge strive for results with a lot of fun. Results were visible from day one. We started MDW in our factories and now the whole business wants to be part of the journey. As I look back, MDW changed a lot for me as well, now I feel deeply how organisations and people should or want to work. I have seen many organisations in the last few years, all with their own improvement programs, however not one was delivering a change to world class. There may be better improvement initiatives, but I have not seen any.
Dennis Pelkman – Continuous Improvement Manager for JohnsonDiversey Central Europe (Oct 2006).

    JohnsonDiversey Denmark

Implementation of Module 1 – Goal Alignment started at the end of 2007 in Johnson Diversey's warehouse and Head Office functions in Denmark. Mini Businesses are now established in all areas, including Sales and Marketing and they are progressing well, with their Level 1 and 2 meetings working well and Level 3 starting soon. Implementation of Module 2 (5S) will start early in 2009.

    JohnsonDiversey Canada

Our LEAN journey is complimented by the modules we have incorporated into our manufacturing discipline. We had to revisit both Module 1 and 2. This was an opportunity for us to ask ourselves how we can better incorporate both modules into our LEAN journey.

We found the customer supplier agreements drove out waste and added a great deal of visibility. With that we quickly realized our Mini Business's rely on each other and are very aware of each others value. The creativity we have tapped is substantial. Each MBU has risen to the challenge and provides the necessary support for each other.

The visual aspect of MDW is important to display our business results and help drive positive change. When we see a trend developing we know its time for action. The framework provided enables every member of our workforce to become a leader of change.

We are now going to carefully select the next module that will compliment our journey.

I wanted to let you know my eyes were opened more fully during/after your last visit.  I am recognizing that we are currently pushing ideas/solutions onto the teams and we actually need them to develop those solutions.  I have been coaching the staff on this since your visit.  It will take us all time to break our old habits, but we will diligently work on this.
Patricia Hatem - Plant Manager,  JohnsonDiversey Waxdale USA (Feb 2008)

"MDWT - I have seen many team initiatives in my 21 years in manufacturing and have been part of successful implementations.  I have not seen a process so clearly laid out and focused on the "right" things so quickly". "MDWT provides the organization with a great toolbox and process for implementing Teams.  Module 1, Goal Alignment, clearly focuses the teams on a result and metric driven process, while emphasizing the need for goal alignment all the way through the value chain.  Module 2, 5s makes it even clearer what is important in this lean journey, and is one of many lean tools interwoven into MDWT.  This MDWT tool provides a powerful template for harnessing the unique tools of our "greatest asset", the intellectual capital of our People.   We are just beginning this journey, and it is already clear, what we are doing is changing the face of our business forever and for the better".
Randall W. Wilkins - MDWT Lead, JohnsonDiversey Inc. Waxdale USA (Aug 2007).

    JohnsonDiversey Spain
